HPE's (Hewlett Packard Enterprise) ProLiant DL385 Gen10 Plus v2 rack servers deliver improved compute performance to meet the growing demands of complex virtualised environments. The motherboard's two SP3 processor sockets can now accommodate AMD EPYC 7003 series CPUs (Central Processing Unit), which use advanced chip technology to offer higher performance than their predecessors with a comparable number of cores (up to 64). With a total of 32 DIMM slots (Dual In-line Memory Module), the processors can access large amounts of memory, while the fast DDR4 RAM (Random Access Memory) standard with memory speeds of up to 3200MHz contributes to the high application performance of the servers.
The 2U server chassis offers a wide range of expansion options for the installation of SFF (Small Form Factor) or LFF (Large Form Factor) hard disks in the corresponding drive cages, depending on the chassis version. Both conventional HDDs (Hard Disk Drive) and faster SSDs (Solid State Drive) are supported, and tri-mode RAID controllers (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) allow the use of multiple transfer standards such as SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment), SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) and NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express).
To further adapt the systems to the existing infrastructure, PCIe Gen4 standard PCI Express slots allow the installation of expansion cards. For example, network cards can be used to provide the necessary connectivity, and graphic cards can increase the computing acceleration of high performance computing (HPC) applications. The servers are equipped with redundant power supplies and chassis fans to ensure reliable power supply and cooling of high-end components. This enables consistent system performance even under heavy loads and increases reliability.
