The smart and efficient design of the 4U chassis is also continued in the placement of the hard disks. In the front there are 10 SFF slots that can be equipped with SAS and SATA drives in 2.5" format. With optionally available NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) drive enclosures, you can also benefit from the high transfer speeds of compact SSDs (Solid State Disks) when configuring the mass storage.

Due to the space-saving design, the systems feature a total of nine full-length and height PCIe (PCI Express) slots for installing expansion cards. This gives you a range of additional options, including high-performance graphic cards to accelerate your workloads and adapt the HPE ProLiant DL580 Gen9 servers to the requirements of your application. In addition to the PCIe slots, a FlexibleLOM slot is also available for expanding connectivity, which you can equip with compatible network cards and therefore achieve an optimal integration into your existing network environment.
