Two processor sockets allow you to equip the server with second-generation Intel Xeon CPUs with an average power consumption (TDP) of up to 150 watts. Therefore, up to the top models of the Platinum series with up to 26 cores, you have various options to adapt the performance range of your blade server to your application with appropriate processors.

A total of 16 DIMM slots are available for the needed memory expansion, whereby the HPE ProLiant BL460c Gen10 with its Intel C621 chipset supports a memory capacity of up to 128 GB per module. The maximum possible configuration varies depending on the type of memory modules used. When equipped with Registered RAM (RDIMM), you can configure your blade server with up to 512 GB of DDR4 main memory. If even more memory is required, you also have the option of using Load-Reduced-RAM(LRDIMM) and can therefore achieve a maximum configuration of 1 TB. To protect against memory errors, Advanced ECC (Error Checking and Correction) is supported and ensures increased security with an extended error correction procedure.

To enable versatile connectivity, you can install several compatible network cards in the FlexibleLOM (LAN on motherboard) slot of the BL460c Gen10. This gives you various options for integrating your system into the existing infrastructure for the respective network environment and the required transmission speed.
Additional expansion potential is also provided by two PCIe (PCI Express) slots for compact type A and B mezzanine cards. Here, for example, you can install Fibre Channel HBAs (Host Bus Adapters) for optimised SAN (Storage Area Network) connectivity, and therefore have a high degree of flexibility for many areas of application.

In terms of mass storage, HPE ProLiant BL460c Gen10 blade servers offer a total of two hard drives in 2.5" SFF format, which you can integrate into the system via the embedded 6G SATA Smart Array Controller. You also have the choice of using an optional 12G SAS controller to connect the drives for an extended range of functions. Therefore, you can achieve a maximum storage capacity of up to 4 TB when using HDDs (hard disk drives), and up to 7.68 TB is possible with SSDs (solid state disks).
