The high performance potential of HPE DL385 Gen10 Plus servers is based on two SP3 processor sockets that can be equipped with second-generation AMD EPYC CPUs. By supporting the top models of the processor family with up to 64 cores, you have the option of optimally equipping your systems in the maximum configuration with a total of 128 cores for CPU-intensive applications with the highest requirements.
Each processor features 16 DIMM slots for up to four TB of DDR4 RAM, which operates at a maximum memory speed of up to 3200 MHz. With a total of 32 fast RAM modules with high memory capacities, you can therefore achieve a high-performance and at the same time very large RAM expansion. The support of Advanced ECC (Error Checking and Correction) also ensures increased protection against single and multi-bit memory errors through the extended error correction procedure.

High-bandwidth expansion - HPE ProLiant DL385 Gen10 Plus servers with PCI-Express 4.0

To utilise the best possible data transfer rates of modern NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) SSDs and unlock the full potential of powerful graphics and compute accelerators, the PCI Express slots (PCIe) of HPE DL385 Gen10 Plus servers support the enhanced fourth-generation PCIe standard. Compared to PCI-Express 3.0, PCIe Gen4 provides twice the bandwidth and therefore improved access speeds and lower latencies in addition to higher data rates. However, since the interface is backwards compatible, existing older components that do not meet the latest standard can still be used. This gives you a wide range of options for equipping the system according to your requirements.
The extensive expansion potential of the servers results from up to three PCIe riser cards, which can be installed optionally and offer you up to 8 PCI Express slots for expansion cards such as graphic cards, network cards and RAID controllers.

HPE ProLiant DL385 Gen10 Plus servers - Versatile options for increased storage capacity

Application areas with high storage capacity requirements benefit from extensive configuration options to equip the server systems with the necessary mass storage. HPE DL385 Gen10 Plus servers offer a wide range of options. For example, the drive bays in the front of the 2U chassis can be equipped with hard disks in 3.5" LFF format or 2.5" SFF form factor, depending on the model. In addition, with optional drive cages instead of PCIe riser cards, you have the possibility of installing more hard disks in the rear area of the server chassis. In total, up to 20 LFF or 38 SFF drives can therefore be installed in the maximum configuration to achieve the highest possible storage capacity. Furthermore, an optional NVMe bay allows up to 16 SSDs with excellent access speeds to be used as storage media.
Depending on the model, the hard disks can be connected and managed via several optional Smart Array Storage Controllers, which differ in performance and range of functions with the Essential Controller and Performance Controller variants.
